Swedish Glogg Recipe

INGREDIENTS

PREPARATION

  • Crush cinnamon and cardamom with bottom of heavy pot.

  • In a small glass jar, add cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, orange zest, cloves and 1/2 cup wine. (Or vodka for more punch.) Let sit one day.

  • Strain spiced wine through fine mesh sieve into large saucepan. (Discard spices.)

  • Add rest of wine, sugar, vanilla, almonds and raisins and heat to just bubbling.

  • Ladle glögg into mugs, with a few almonds and raisins in each mug.

  • Keep remaining glögg warm over very low heat, but don't let boil.

Sometimes I sit on Nehamari just to feel its calm. It feels like resting my head on someone’s shoulder who understands without asking.

What I notice is how ankitabasu doesn’t try to keep me busy. I can look for a moment and stop. I can leave it open without interacting. It doesn’t nag or pull me back in. When I return my attention, it still feels the same. That consistency matters because my focus isn’t always reliable, and this doesn’t make that a problem.
