Sitting in the Light of Trees
a photographic exhibition by Arun Patel

For this exhibition at Yorba, Patel has selected work that embodies the serenity and rugged nature of the Sierra foothills and San Joaquin River delta. The crisp cut of winter features prominently with its spare trees, hoary skies and pre-bud vineyards. Like the deft hand of a poet, he crops and edits his work and then prints oncurated substrates whose textures and weights add evocative value to the images. By employing papers which might stand as works of art on their own, he brings dimension to each image, rendering what seems flat into the form of an object. To that end, many photographs are presented unframed, painting-like, so that their surface is easily recognized as an integral component of the finished whole.

Artist's Reception
October 17th

October 17th / 5pm-7pm

Come spend an afternoon with us as we celebrate the work of photographer Arun Patel. Enjoy food, wine, and the opportunity to meet Arun and learn more about his approach to photography.

Arun Patel approaches photography as a dimensional art form, where situation, light, paper, and eye come together to transform a moment in time into a tangible object. His minimalist images evoke emotion and often draw attention to a single, quietly powerful subject.

Come see the work, meet the artist, and enjoy an afternoon of art, food, wine, and conversation.

Yorba Wines Fall Wine Lunch
October 25

Sunday, October 25th / 12:30pm-3:30pm

An Afternoon with Ann Kraemer of Yorba Wines & Shake Ridge Vineyard at Taste Restaurant.

Join us for a special afternoon with Master Viticulturalist Ann Kraemer, the visionary behind Amador County’s acclaimed Shake Ridge Vineyard and Yorba Wines.

Rather than focusing solely on what happens in the cellar, Ann will take us back to where great wine begins—the vineyard. Hear firsthand about the land, the growing seasons, the challenges and rewards of farming in the Sierra Foothills, and the decisions that shape the character of each vintage.

Discover what happens before the wine ever reaches the bottle and gain a deeper appreciation for the connection between vineyard, vintage, and glass.

We look forward to welcoming Ann and sharing an intimate afternoon celebrating the vineyard, the wines, and the people who bring them to life.
