Feasting in the Foothills, Small Town Food and Wine

Celebrating our local chefs once a week throughout the month of July.

For our series finale on July 30th, we're celebrating Chef Lori of Small Town Food and Wine in Amador City.


For those of you unfamiliar with Small Town, you should know they adhere to very strong belief system. Most importantly - long lunches with friends, food you can feel good about, putting ice in your wine if you want to, and staying up past your bedtime for a good dinner party.


To honor their commandments, Chef Lori is preparing shrimp tacos paired with our Rosado. The perfect dinner party meal on a warm summer's evening.

Shrimp Marinate Ingredients:


  • 1 lb of medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 tbs butter

  • 1 tbs olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt


Sauce Ingredients:

  • Cilantro crema

  • 2 limes, zested and juiced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 bunch cilantro, chopped

  • 1/2 jalapeno, seeded and minced

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/4 cup avocado oil

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Also: shredded cabbage and corn tortillas
